Breakthrough drug trial aims to stop deadly blood clots in ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07214103

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called sivelestat can help restore normal blood clotting in ICU patients with septic shock who develop dangerous blood clotting problems. Researchers will compare sivelestat against a placebo in 120 patients to see if it improves a key blood factor involved in breaking down clots. The goal is to find a specific treatment for this severe complication that currently has no targeted therapy.
