Breakthrough drug trial aims to stop deadly blood clots in ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07214103

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called sivelestat can help restore normal blood clotting in ICU patients with septic shock who develop dangerous blood clotting problems. The trial will involve 120 patients who will receive either the drug or a placebo to see if sivelestat improves their blood's ability to dissolve clots. Researchers hope this treatment could help prevent organ damage and improve survival in this life-threatening condition.
