Blood clot block may boost jawbone healing for dental implants
NCT ID NCT03495700
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested a new bone graft material made from a patient's own blood cells (L-PRF block) against a standard bone substitute for dental implant surgery. 23 adults with jawbone loss in the upper back jaw received one of the two grafts before getting implants. The goal was to see if the L-PRF block helps new bone grow faster and better. Results could improve how dentists rebuild bone for implants.
