Summary

This study looks at two standard ways to treat an infection that happens after a hip or knee replacement. Some patients get one surgery to clean the infection, while others get two planned surgeries. Both groups also take long-term antibiotics. The goal is to see which approach works better at keeping the infection away for at least one year. About 490 adults who speak English and have an early infection after joint replacement will take part.
