Summary

This study looks at two standard treatments for infections that happen after hip or knee replacement surgery. About 490 people will be randomly assigned to have either one surgery or two planned surgeries, along with antibiotics and keeping the implant in place. Afterward, all participants will take long-term antibiotics to control the infection. The goal is to see which approach works better at preventing the need for more surgery within a year.
