One surgery instead of two? study tests simpler hearing implant procedure for kids
NCT ID NCT04039802
Summary
This study tested whether a simpler, one-step surgery is as safe and effective as the traditional two-step surgery for placing bone-anchored hearing implants in children. It involved 70 children aged 4 to 9 years with conductive hearing loss. The main goal was to see if the one-step procedure resulted in fewer lost implants compared to the older two-step method.
