Telescope eye implant offers new hope for advanced AMD patients
NCT ID NCT04796545
First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests a small telescope implant (SING IMT) for people with end-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD) who have lost central vision. About 76 adults aged 55 and older will receive the implant and be followed for 12 months to see if it safely improves vision. The device is designed to magnify images onto the healthy part of the retina, but it does not cure AMD or stop the disease from progressing.
