New shortcut for pain relief: radiation without the wait
NCT ID NCT07117032
First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests a new, faster method to deliver radiation therapy for severe abdominal pain caused by pancreatic cancer. Normally, planning this treatment takes over a week because a special CT scan is needed. Here, doctors will use the patient's existing diagnostic CT scan to plan the radiation, potentially delivering pain relief much sooner. The study will include 5 adults with advanced cancer to see if this shortcut is safe and effective.
