Summary
This study aimed to understand why people with sickle cell disease often get painful, slow-healing leg ulcers. Researchers compared 70 adults with and without ulcers, measuring blood flow, nerve function, and markers in the blood and wound fluid. The goal was to learn more about what causes these ulcers and how different treatments help them heal.
