First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at 40 adults with lower back, buttock, or hip pain. Researchers checked if manually loosening a stiff sacroiliac joint could reduce spasms in the piriformis muscle. They used physical therapy techniques and measured muscle tension and pain before and after. The goal was to see if treating the joint helps relax the muscle and ease discomfort.
