One-Week radiation plus chemo: a new hope for endometrial cancer patients?
NCT ID NCT05691010
First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a short, 1-week course of radiation therapy combined with standard chemotherapy (carboplatin and paclitaxel) is practical for people with stage III endometrial cancer. The usual radiation takes 5 weeks, so this shorter schedule could be more convenient. The trial will enroll 28 participants to see if most can complete all 6 cycles of chemo without delays.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
carboplatin, paclitaxel, and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more convenient treatment option for stage III endometrial cancer by shortening radiation from 5 weeks to 1 week.
What could go wrong
This is a very early feasibility study with only 28 participants. It is not designed to prove the treatment works better than standard care, and side effects from combining chemo and radiation are possible.
