Summary
This study tested a program called Shed-MEDS that helps people with dementia living in assisted living facilities safely stop or reduce medications that may be unnecessary or harmful. Researchers worked with 18 residents and their families to cut down on extra pills based on medical guidelines and personal preferences. The goal was to see if reducing medications could improve quality of life over 90 days.
