Can giving patients a choice boost colon cancer screening?

NCT ID NCT07503847

First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether letting people aged 40-49 with a family history of colorectal cancer choose between a colonoscopy and a simpler stool test leads to more screenings. About 2,286 participants will be randomly assigned to either a shared decision-making group or standard care. The goal is to see if offering a choice improves screening rates and patient satisfaction.
