First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested whether a class of diabetes drugs called SGLT2 inhibitors can slow the progression of kidney disease in adolescents with type 1 diabetes. Researchers measured changes in urine protein levels and blood sugar control over 6 months in 86 participants aged 10-18. The goal was to see if the drug could help control kidney damage, not cure it.
