Could your menstrual cycle affect MS symptoms? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07081594
First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at how natural hormone changes during the menstrual cycle impact brain-to-muscle communication, learning new motor skills, and muscle fatigue in women with multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers will measure hormone levels and use a non-invasive brain stimulation technique to understand these effects. The goal is to find the best time in the cycle for rehabilitation, potentially improving therapy outcomes. The study involves 14 women with MS who have regular periods.
