Can the Body's own 'Stop Signals' for inflammation predict who survives severe infection?

NCT ID NCT07353970

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at special molecules called SPMs that help the body turn off inflammation naturally. Researchers will measure SPM levels in blood samples from 300 ICU patients with severe infection or sepsis. No new treatments are given—only standard care. The goal is to see if SPM patterns can help doctors identify high-risk patients earlier and improve future care.
