Scientists study Body's own 'Off Switch' for inflammation in ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07353970

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at 300 adults in the ICU with severe infection or sepsis. Researchers will measure natural molecules called SPMs that help the body turn off inflammation. The goal is to see how SPM levels relate to organ function and survival. No extra treatments or blood draws are needed—only routine care samples are used.
