First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study measured levels of three metals—chromium, nickel, and magnesium—in the blood of 74 adults. Some had type 2 diabetes and gum disease, some had only one condition, and some were healthy. The goal was to see if these metals are connected to gum health in people with diabetes. No treatment was given; it was purely an observational study.
