Hospitals test new early warning system to catch sepsis before it strikes

NCT ID NCT06779617

Summary

This study is testing two new computer-generated risk scores designed to give doctors an early warning. One score predicts a patient's risk of developing sepsis in the next four hours, and the other predicts their risk of serious deterioration, like needing ICU care. The goal is to see if showing these scores to hospital staff makes them check on high-risk patients more quickly, which could lead to faster treatment.
