NCT ID NCT07479147

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at the best treatment for people over 60 who had a stroke caused by a common heart condition called PFO (a small hole in the heart). It compares closing the hole with a device versus taking blood-thinning medication to prevent another stroke. Researchers will follow 400 older adults for several years to see which approach works better and is safer.
