Summary

This study tests whether semaglutide (the drug in Ozempic/Wegovy) can reduce cravings and prevent relapse in people with opioid use disorder who are already taking buprenorphine. About 46 adults will receive either semaglutide or a placebo injection weekly for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in cue-triggered cravings and rates of return to illicit opioid use.
