Weight loss drug trialed as potential breakthrough for cocaine addiction

Summary
This study is testing if semaglutide, a medication currently used for diabetes and weight loss, can help people with cocaine addiction. Researchers want to see if the drug, when combined with talk therapy, can reduce cravings and the urge to use cocaine. The study will enroll 75 adults with cocaine use disorder to measure changes in brain activity, behavior, and actual drug use.
