Weight-Loss drug trialed as potential breakthrough for cocaine addiction

Summary
This study is testing if semaglutide, a medication currently used for diabetes and weight loss, can help people with cocaine addiction. Researchers will give the drug alongside cognitive behavioral therapy to 75 participants to see if it reduces cravings and actual cocaine use. The goal is to find a new medication option, as there are currently no FDA-approved drugs specifically for treating cocaine use disorder.
