Can a weekly shot curb your cravings? study tests Long-Term effects on appetite

NCT ID NCT05548647

Summary

This study looked at how the FDA-approved weight-loss medication semaglutide affects people's appetite, food cravings, and eating behavior over a long period. For 72 weeks, 120 adults with obesity received either the medication or a placebo (inactive shot), along with diet and exercise counseling. Researchers measured how much people ate, their feelings of hunger and fullness, and their relationship with food to understand the drug's long-term effects.
