Summary

This study tests whether a new drug, seltorexant, can improve mood in people with major depression who also have trouble sleeping. About 600 adults will receive either the drug or a placebo for several weeks, then all can take the drug in an extended safety phase. The goal is to see if targeting sleep can ease depressive symptoms.
