First seen Nov 11, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether making a short video of yourself talking about your reasons to drink less can help you actually drink less. 120 heavy drinkers were split into three groups: some got a brief motivational interview, some got the interview plus made a video for their future self, and some just answered questions. The video group received their recording 21 days later to boost motivation. Researchers measured changes in drinking and motivation over 6 weeks.
