Summary
This large study is testing whether taking a daily selenium pill (200 micrograms) can reduce hospitalizations and deaths in people with heart failure. Selenium is a nutrient important for heart health, and many heart failure patients in Northern Europe have low levels. The trial will include over 4,300 adults in Sweden and Norway who are already receiving standard heart failure care.
