NCT ID NCT05214573
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study looked at over 386,000 adults with type 2 diabetes to compare four common second-line medications (GLP-1 agonists, SGLT2 inhibitors, DPP-4 inhibitors, and sulfonylureas) for their effects on heart health and other outcomes. Researchers used existing medical records to mimic a clinical trial and also asked patients which treatment outcomes mattered most to them. The goal was to help doctors and patients choose the best medication based on both safety and personal values.
