Summary
This study tested a school program to help rural middle school students eat more fruits and vegetables. Over 1,100 seventh graders from ten Virginia schools took part. The program included goal setting, peer leaders, and workshops. Students in the program ate more fruits and vegetables right after and even one year later, compared to students who got standard health information.
