Summary
This study tested a school-based program to help rural 7th graders eat more fruits and vegetables. Over 1,100 students from ten Virginia middle schools took part. The program included goal setting, peer leaders, and workshops. Students in the program ate more fruits and vegetables right after and even one year later compared to those who did not get the program.
