Newer keyhole surgery for stubborn wrist fracture shows promise in small trial

NCT ID NCT07320404

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compared two surgical methods to fix a scaphoid bone in the wrist that failed to heal after a fracture. Thirty adults received either a newer, less invasive arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery or the traditional open surgery. Researchers measured how well the bone healed, how long it took, and how much wrist function and strength returned.
