New muscle scan could predict falls in seniors

Summary
This study aims to improve how doctors diagnose sarcopenia—age-related muscle loss that can lead to falls and loss of independence. Researchers will test a new, high-definition muscle-reading technology (HD-sEMG) in 846 adults aged 75 and older who are already in the hospital. The goal is to see if this tool can better identify those with sarcopenia and help predict who will recover well.
