Scientists dig deep into mysterious immune disease
NCT ID NCT05916638
Summary
This study aims to understand how specific immune cells (monocytes and macrophages) behave in sarcoidosis, a disease that causes inflammation and lumps called granulomas. Researchers will compare blood and tissue samples from 100 people with sarcoidosis to those with tuberculosis, a similar-looking infection. The goal is to learn what drives the disease, which could eventually lead to better treatments.
