First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study checks if a Samsung smartwatch can tell when someone has major depression. About 220 adults (135 with depression and 85 healthy) wear the watch for 3 months. The watch tracks heart rate, sleep, and steps, and participants answer daily surveys about their mood. The goal is to see if the watch's 'Mindfulness Index' matches a doctor's diagnosis.
