Summary
This study tested a Safety Plan Intervention (SPI) for people who came to the emergency department after a suicide attempt or with severe suicidal thoughts. The SPI is a 6-step behavioral plan that helps people recognize warning signs, use coping strategies, and reach out to supporters or professionals. The goal was to see if this approach could be used effectively in a real-world emergency setting and help reduce future suicide attempts.
