First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether a deep brain stimulation method (using a helmet-like coil) works better than the standard figure-eight coil for people whose depression hasn't improved with medication. About 152 adults will receive 20 sessions over 4 weeks, with follow-up visits at 30, 60, and 90 days. The goal is to see which approach reduces depression symptoms more effectively.
