Zapping the brain to ease arthritis pain? UCLA tests new combo therapy
NCT ID NCT06906939
Summary
This small, early-stage study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called rTMS can boost the benefits of Tai Chi for people with knee osteoarthritis and depression. Researchers want to see if stimulating two different brain areas is safe, feasible, and more effective at reducing both pain and depression symptoms than stimulating just one area. The goal is to gather pilot data to see if this combined approach is worth testing in larger future trials.
