Shocking stroke recovery: brain zaps plus rehab show promise

Summary
This study tests whether adding a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to standard physical therapy can improve arm and hand function in people who have had a first ischemic stroke. Researchers will compare real rTMS to a sham (fake) version in 66 adults aged 18-80 with moderate weakness on one side. Participants will be followed for 6 months to see if the combination leads to better movement, balance, and quality of life.
