Brain zaps for the blues: new hope for depression after spinal injury?

NCT ID NCT04263285

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a safe, non-invasive brain stimulation method called rTMS can help treat depression in people with spinal cord injury. Fourteen adults with a spinal cord injury and major depression will receive rTMS daily for four weeks. The main goals are to check if the treatment is safe and if it reduces depressive symptoms. If successful, this could lead to larger studies and better depression care for this group.
