Parkinson's drug patch may help cocaine users quit

Summary

This study tests whether a skin patch containing rotigotine, a drug already approved for Parkinson's disease, can help people with cocaine use disorder use less cocaine and improve their thinking skills. About 40 adults will receive either the rotigotine patch or a placebo patch, along with their usual behavioral therapy. The goal is to see if the patch reduces cocaine use and boosts brain activity in areas linked to self-control.
