New Three-Drug cocktail aims to outsmart tough leukemia

NCT ID NCT06644183

First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests a new combination of three drugs—roginolisib, venetoclax, and rituximab—in people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) that has come back or not responded to prior treatments. The goal is to see if the combination is safe and can wipe out leukemia cells more effectively. About 64 participants will receive the drugs orally or by infusion, and researchers will measure how many achieve undetectable minimal residual disease in their bone marrow.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Roginolisib (a targeted drug) combined with venetoclax and rituximab

What this could lead to

If successful, this combination could offer a more effective and tolerable treatment option for people with hard-to-treat CLL, potentially leading to longer remission without the need for continuous therapy.

What could go wrong

This is an early-phase trial with only 64 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drugs can cause side effects like liver issues, rash, diarrhea, and infections. The combination may not work better than existing treatments.
