Robot coach vs. classic exercises: which better prevents falls in seniors?
NCT ID NCT06973460
First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 08, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a robotic system that gives personalized feedback can improve balance and reduce fall risk in older adults better than the standard Otago Exercise Programme. Participants aged 60 to 85 with mild balance issues will use either the Hunova robot or do standard exercises. The goal is to see which approach leads to better stability and walking ability.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Hunova Robotic-Assisted System
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could point toward a more personalized, technology-driven approach to fall prevention in older adults.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study with only 36 participants, so results may not apply to all older adults. The robotic system may not prove superior to the standard exercise program.
