Robotic seal PARO tested to soothe Post-Surgery agitation

Summary
This study tests whether a robotic seal named PARO can reduce agitation, anxiety, and pain in patients recovering from abdominal surgery. 300 adults having elective visceral surgery will be randomly assigned to use PARO or not. Researchers will monitor agitation, pain, and anxiety for three days after surgery to see if the robot helps.
