First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This pilot study at the University of Zurich is testing whether robotic-assisted bronchoscopy can be performed using moderate sedation (propofol) instead of deep anesthesia. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and effective for taking lung tissue samples. About 30 adults scheduled for a lung biopsy will participate. If successful, this could make the procedure more comfortable and accessible for patients.
