Robot-Assisted lung biopsy: could lighter sedation make it easier?

NCT ID NCT07006311

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This pilot study at the University of Zurich is testing whether robotic-assisted bronchoscopy can be done with moderate sedation (using propofol), similar to standard bronchoscopies. The goal is to see if the robot can still accurately reach lung lesions for biopsy under lighter sedation. Thirty adults scheduled for bronchoscopy will participate, and the study will check if the biopsy tool reaches the target and if samples are diagnostic.
