Robot or therapist? new study compares arm rehab after stroke
NCT ID NCT07002463
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether robot-assisted arm therapy works better than standard physiotherapy for people recovering from a recent stroke. 58 adults with arm weakness took part in a 6-week program doing the same exercises, either with a robot or a human therapist. The goal was to see which approach improved arm movement and muscle control more, and how changes in muscle tightness relate to recovery.
