Robot-Controlled camera pill could replace painful endoscopy

NCT ID NCT07197424

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests a robot-controlled camera pill that people swallow to look for causes of iron deficiency anaemia in the stomach and small bowel. It aims to replace the standard upper endoscopy (a tube with a camera) with a less invasive pill. The study involves 100 adults who have already had other tests that didn't find the cause. If successful, this could reduce discomfort and stress for patients and ease pressure on hospital endoscopy units.
