New drug cocktail shows promise in shrinking HER2+ breast tumors before surgery
NCT ID NCT05319873
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a combination of targeted drugs (ribociclib, tucatinib, trastuzumab) with or without hormone therapy (fulvestrant) for HER2-positive breast cancer. In the first part, it checks safety in patients whose cancer has spread. In the second part, it compares this combo to standard chemotherapy before surgery in early-stage patients. The goal is to see if the new approach can shrink tumors more effectively, potentially reducing the amount of tissue that needs to be removed.
