First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This pilot study tests whether injecting a small amount of sterile saltwater through a thin spinal catheter can quickly reverse leg weakness caused by spinal anesthesia. About 20 adults having elective hip or knee replacement surgery will receive the saline flush after their operation. The goal is to see if this simple technique can help patients regain leg movement faster, potentially improving recovery and mobility.
