Breathing machine may ease coughing for ALS patients

Summary

This study tests if a mechanical device that helps people cough can improve breathing in ALS patients. 36 adults with ALS who have trouble coughing will use the device for 4 weeks. Researchers will measure cough strength before and after treatment to see if it helps.
